Local Number Porting
What does it mean to port a number? Porting is the process of moving a phone number from one carrier to another. For example, transferring your number from AT&T to Verizon.
How long does the porting process take? Porting a local number to your chosen carrier typically takes 7-10 business days. However, the exact time can vary based on the specific carrier and their capabilities.
What if I need my number sooner? If you need your number sooner than the expected port date, we recommend temporary forwarding service to cover the interim. You can view different forwarding call service plans on our website.
How do I start the porting process? When you select porting, you will receive an email from the RingBoost Support Team with porting instructions that include an account number, PIN code, and service address. You can submit porting information to your carrier to your carrier of choice to trigger the porting process. If you need to have the porting information resent, reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org .
Can RingBoost expedite the porting process? While RingBoost supplies the information, you need to port your number, the porting process happens directly between two carriers at your direction. We are here to guide you and be your advocate, but we do not have direct influence over the porting timeline.
What happens when my port is complete? When possible, we send a notification of anticipated completion date. When port is final, you will receive a notification from your carrier, and you will then be able to receive and place phone calls from your new number.
If you have any questions or concerns you can reach us at 1-877-RINGBOOST. And if you’re as excited about your new number as we are, leave us an online review.
